Megson FitzPatrick wins a VIATeC Member's Choice Award
MFI donates PC's to Victoria Women's Transition House
On August 25th 2010 Megson FitzPatrick Insurance Services donated 6 computers and 2 color laser printers to the Victoria Women’s Transition House Society. Megson FitzPatrick has been in the process of updating IT hardware over the past year and although most of the old units were no longer current these latest 6 computers were in great shape.
Elissa Bergman of the Victoria Women’s Transition House Society said that their organization will be using 2 of the donated units along with the laser printers at their main office and at their emergency shelter. The remaining units will be given to women who are leaving the shelter and are getting reestablished on their own.
“It’s so often that we take things like our computers for granted on a day to day basis, that we often forget that there are many people out there who do not have the same “luxuries” we do. It feels so great to be able share some of our extra resources within our community and give back! Victoria Women’s Transition House Society’s mission is to work collaboratively, provide shelter, support, counseling and education to women of all ages, with or without children, so that they can live free from the effects of abuse in intimate relationships. The Society strives to prevent and eliminate abuse through education, advocacy and partnerships.
